Summary of the Study
Diffuse large B-cell lymphoma (DLBCL) is the most frequent non-Hodgkin lymphoma. This study integrates flow cytometry and gene expression data to improve the phenotypic classification and prognostic assessment of DLBCL.
Expression of 27 lymphoid markers was assessed in 16 DLBCL-derived cell lines by flow cytometry
Gene expression levels of four key markers (BCL2, BCL6, CD11c, LAIR1) were used to build a gene-based risk score
The score:
- Stratified patients into four prognostic groups
- Was an independent predictor of overall survival
Drug response analysis linked BCL6 overexpression to resistance against etoposide
In this study, Alboukadel Kassambara contributed to the data analysis, specifically the gene expression modeling and construction of the prognostic risk score, linking molecular profiles to clinical outcomes in DLBCL.
